OK… so this movie has been out for a few weeks now and I wasn’t really eager to watch it. On the whole I don’t really like space type movie as I feel that too many of them have the same kind of story line.

Life, however was something completely unexpected. The movie is about astronauts on a space station waiting for samples from Mars. They receive the samples and start to examine and study them. They stimulate the growth of the samples and finds that they have created life. An unexpected gas leak occurs and changes the atmosphere in the organisms chamber which renders it in a state of hibernation. They then try to bring it back to life with electric shocks….. This however puts the organism in a state of fear and it starts to fight survival by basically tormenting the rest of the crew.

I have to admit that a movie hasn’t effected me like this one in quite a while… I was shocked and felt uneasy… there were some pretty gruesome scenes in the movie that kind of reminded me of the first time I saw the Alien movies.

I really enjoyed the movie and was glad to have put the time in to watch it. It had a really good story and the organism essentially also only wanted to survive, that was it. It didn’t want to kill the crew members out of pleasure it simply wanted Life.
